Functional Fit
Functional Fit is an online fitness program that focuses on building and strengthening bodies that are capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions … not just lifting a certain amount of weight in a specific posture created by a gym machine.
There are 7 main functional movement skills that we all use each day – and these skills are the basis of this.
Functional Fit Program:
1. Hinge
2. Squat
3. Lunge
4. Rotate
5. Pull
6. Push
7. Walk
Functional Fit is a MODULAR program – meaning it comes in BLOCKS.
There are 8 blocks with the program. Each block is focused on a different training protocol. One block is INTERVAL training – another is DROP SETS- others are AMRAP, TABATA, ASYMMETRY and more! So even though we follow the same weekly body split (pull, push, core, skills), each block has a totally new challenge and feel because of the change in protocol.
Each BLOCK focuses on a different TRAINING PROTOCOL and contains 4 workouts:
1. Pull
2. Push
3. Core
4. Skills
How to use the Blocks:
This is where the fun part comes in! You can customize the programming to suit your needs. Pick and choose which blocks you think would work best for you – and use the blocks as phases that you control the duration of. So…
You can switch up the blocks every week – so that each week brings something new and exciting. This works well for those who are more experienced.
If you’re newer to working out, you might want to give yourself more time to practice and master the blocks before moving on. Repeating a block for 2-4 weeks might be best for beginners.
Feeling up for a challenge and craving variety? Mix blocks together. For example, you could use a PULL workout from block 1 on Monday, a PUSH workout from block 4 on Tuesday, the CORE workout from block 6 on Thursday, and so forth. You can mix and match as you’d like!
